Bethel - Part 3

Well, tonight is my last night here at Bethel before I head home for Canada tomorrow afternoon. As I mentioned before, saying goodbye to the kids is going to be tough. Not to mention leaving my mom and sisters here for another two months. On the other hand, I'm ready to go home - I've been on the road for almost three weeks and I'm beginning to miss the fresh B.C. air, forks, proper plumbing, and even work. I'll probably change my mind about that last one within a week or two.

Over the past couple days, I've been shooting a few videos for the orphanage's use. Unfortunately, I won't be able to upload them just yet because of the slow and restricted internet here. Another thing I miss about home. Both videos are rather cheesy and sappy, but given the subject, how could they not be? They make even my eyes moisten a little (not an easy thing to do), so hopefully they'll impact the intended target audience when it comes time.

Being here at Bethel has been a real blessing to me. I love my sisters, but I've always wanted a little brother. I've had many dreams in the past where I have a baby brother - but in my dreams, this baby has always had some kind of physical deformity for some odd reason. Like one time, the baby had no arms…but was still able to hug me. Weird, I know; but in a sense, being here is a dream come true. I'm surrounded by the little brothers I never had, fighting over my lap space (and my iPhone), reaching out to be held and played with. And they don't have to be able to see when they call me "Guh guh (big brother), nor do I have to fully grasp the language to understand.
